Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is a recognized health care profession that helps people who are affected by injury, disability, or illness through the use of manual therapy, exercise, advice, and education. A physical therapist uses a drug-free approach to assessing, diagnosing, and effectively treating symptoms to maximize a patient’s ability to move and function properly. Physio can be used to strengthen, increase mobility, reduce pain, prevent injury, and improve respiratory conditions.
Physiotherapists must complete a Master’s level education in most parts of Canada and are dedicated to lifelong learning to upgrade their skills.
